At Calvary Chatham, we carry a deep longing to be a place of belonging — a church family where everyone is genuinely welcome, no matter where you've been or where you find yourself on the journey. We don't pretend to have it all figured out. We're all still learning, together, what it means to follow Jesus faithfully in the ordinary moments of everyday life. So come as you are. You'll find a caring community north of the Thames River, centred in Jesus and glad to walk alongside you. We gather for worship every Sunday at 10:00 am at 34 Victoria Ave in Chatham — there's a place here for you.

Our Faith
What We Believe
A Community Centred in Jesus
Everything we are flows from Jesus Christ. We gather to worship Him, to grow as His followers, and to share His love, light, hope, and peace with a hurting world.
Rooted in a Reformed Faith
We take our theological cues from the great Reformers — John Calvin, Martin Luther, and others — trusting God's grace, God's Word, and God's sovereign love over all of life.
God's Word at the Centre
We hold the Scriptures as the foundation for all we do, seeking to follow Jesus faithfully, empowered by the Holy Spirit and upheld by the grace of God.
A Caring Church Family
Our family is not limited to those who attend our services. We worship together, pray for one another, and go through life together — singles, couples, families, children, and grandparents.
A Place of Joy
We'd rather not be overly traditional or predictable. We are a place of joy, laughter, sharing, and mutual encouragement, glad to serve our neighbours north of the river.

Here's What to Expect
Dress Code
Come as you are — there's no dress code. You'll see everything from jeans to Sunday best, and you'll fit right in.
Parking
Free off-street parking is available in our lot, with accessible parking near the entrance.
Children
Children are always welcome. Families worship together, and little ones are a joyful part of our community.
First Visit
You'll be greeted warmly at the door. Our building is the salmon-coloured one at Victoria and Barthe — no steeple or bell, but a real welcome inside.
Music Style
A blend of hymns and contemporary worship, led from the heart.
Service Length
About an hour, followed by coffee and fellowship.
Accessibility
Our entrance and worship space are accessible, with accessible parking close to the door.
Communion
We celebrate the Lord's Supper together as a church family; all who follow Jesus are welcome at the table.
Coffee & Fellowship
Stay after the service for coffee, treats, and conversation — one of the best parts of our Sundays.

Meet Our Team
Ingrid Dieleman
Chair of Council
Ingrid serves as Chair of Council. She also coordinates pulpit supply, arranging who preaches at Calvary each Sunday, and carries much of the day to day administration during this season without a settled pastor. She is a good person to reach with questions about worship or about the everyday life of the church.
Aaron Gysbers
Clerk of Council
Aaron serves as Clerk of Council and is the first point of contact for questions, visits, and general inquiries. Get in touch any time, and Aaron will help you connect with Calvary Chatham.
Sherri Pilon
Treasurer
Sherri serves as Treasurer, caring for the church's finances and stewardship. She is happy to help with questions about giving and support for the ministry of Calvary Chatham.
Bill Klyn-Hesselink
Bulletin Editor
Bill edits the weekly bulletin, keeping the congregation informed about worship, events, and the everyday life of the church. Send him announcements you would like included.

Community Care
Practical love for our neighbours across Chatham-Kent. Calvary is one of the…
Rides to Appointments
The largest thing this ministry does. Free rides for neighbours without a vehicle, to medical appointments, the grocery store, and the bank. For a lot of people it is the difference between getting care and going without.
Groceries and Food Support
Help for households stretched between the rent and the grocery bill. This grew during the pandemic and the need has not gone away since.
Friendly Visits and Phone Buddies
Loneliness is one of the quietest problems in Chatham-Kent. Volunteers make regular visits and phone calls to neighbours who might otherwise go a whole week without anyone saying their name.
Yard Work and Small Repairs
Raking, snow, and the small jobs around a house that pile up when you can no longer do them yourself. Sometimes a couple of volunteers, sometimes a whole crew for a bigger project.
CAP Money Course
A free budgeting course offered a few times a year. A simple, practical system for managing money, taught with dignity and without shame.
Prayer
Staff and volunteers gather each week to pray over the needs that come through the office. If you would like something prayed for, you can ask.
